Ramfest - Brandy, Brothers and Mud

 

Ramfest is a festival held just outside of Johannesburg, South Africa. This festival is one of the largest "Alternative" festivals in our country, which host international acts such as Trivium, Killswitch Engage, Bring me the Horizon, to name a few.Such "Alternative" festivals are a pretty new thing in South Africa. I have seen the amount of international bands touring South Africa triple in the last few years, a thing which I never believed I would ever see. This is partly due to the sanctions on South Africa during apartheid, and the time it took for the world to start trusting South Africa again, also the stereotypes which is associated with South Africa, especially when it comes to our musical taste.These images are just a small glimpse of what it is like to go to Ramfest. A truly South African festival.
